El Vaquero Authentic Mexican in Arnold

My go to place not of choices in Arnlod but Im happy to support a family business in this tuff time and the food is always great .

Awesome Mexican food with very authentic flavors. My personal favorite is the Fajita Salad. The tamales are worth writing home about. Great service too! We'll be back!

Great food, friendly service.

Good food, wouldn't say it was anything special. Sort of tasted almost like the gravy was from a can and tortillas seemed store bought. Otherwise not much of a selection In the area, I would eat hear again.

Authentic and tasty Mexican food. We had some really tasty Chicken Fajitas. There aren’t a lot of good restaurants in this area so this one is a good stopping point if you are traveling further towards Bear Valley

Family run just like home...food great will return next trip up that way.

Food is fabulous here, and staff is more than accommodating. Wonderful place to enjoy a meal and drinks with friends.

Solid Mexican with a few unique twists. The cabbage salsa they bring with the chips is one of those unique twists. Their more "traditional" red salsa is also tasty and has some good kick to it. Dipping first in the red salsa, then the cabbage salsa is a good option.Fajitas for two were adequate for two as long as you're not supper hungry. Although we didn't try it, the wine margaritas on the menu sounded intriguing. Initial time to take our order on a Wednesday evening was longer than it should have been. Not sure if that's a consistent problem or just a fluke, but it was only half full, so you might want to consider someplace else if you're in a hurry.

We go here every time we go to Arnold .Its consistency it the best and the service is good...only a little slow to clear the tables and bring the bill

Chile Verde is Excellent. Family of 5 and everyone was pleased with their meals. We’ve been twice now, and service was great both times. Pricing was reasonable. We will be going back. Looking forward to trying the breakfast.

Can’t believe it’s taken me this long to go to this place, but let me tell you it’s DELICIOUS! Prices are fair for the quality. Anything you get will be delicious according to my bf and his family (locals). I got the #26 and it was incredible, the shrimp come with skin on so if that’s not your thing I’d choose something else. My bf and his dad got #27 which was also incredible. If you’re in Arnold and in the mood for Mexican go here! If you are looking for more of a fun experience go to the Lube Room! Not Mexican food but awesome bar/restaurant

Tacos we're very bland and disappointing. Also stood there for 10 mins before anyone acknowledged me, with a simple, "be right with you, or hello/welcome, etc.

Marqaritas made with cheap mixer rather than fresh ingredients. Food was nothing special. Very surprised given the reviews here.

Went on a non-holiday Saturday, it seemed like we might have to wait a while, but we were seated in 10 mins. I ordered chicken Fajitas and they were amazing! Husband had the Vaquero burrito and was very happy. Also had a margarita and it was pretty standard, but good. Overall staff was friendly and food was great. We will recommend to our friends and family.

The food is authentic, fresh and tastes great. Family owned and run. They can accommodate large groups inside or outdoors. Not sure of their status during the pandemic but I saw their OPEN sign on the street the end of June 2020.

Very handicap accessable and friendly restraint in Arnold California. The food is amazing with great customer service. They have great work ethics I appreciate their staff they were outstanding.

Waiting for 1.5 hours; sure they forgot my order but they don't admit it. Many people who came after and order they got served ..... Not sure if I will come back. After 16 years in Arnold I will not support this local restaurant.

Consistently good Mexican food, good patio seating and well marked servers. Really like anything with their green sauce and the Colorado chili (beef) in any of the entree.

Kind, friendly people. Authentic food- the rice reminds me of my abuelita's sopa de arroz. It's such treat to enjoy a good, warm meal in beautiful Arnold in a lovely, family-owned business.

Good food and incredibly hard-working employees, especially the host and the guy working take out. It's tough to go out to eat in a town full of tourists where you can only seat people outside in very limited space. Everybody working there made it clear to us how to order and where we could wait for our to go food. They were working under a lot of pressure as a restaurant trying to serve only outside in a town that is starting to fill up with tourists. They handled a stressful situation very well. Very good food. Excellent Mexican food.

Every time we come to Arnold this restaurant is a favorite. Staff is always friendly and all the meals have been deliciously fresh. We love the outdoor seating and the restaurant/restrooms are clean. It's also kid-friendly with a lengthy kid menu. They have been great with substituting requests for the kids.

Good food, great people. Our gang (12) around 1 table didn't blink when asked for individual checks. Service fast and efficient.
